STORAGE CHECKLIST

Before placing items in storage, families should go through a checklist.  One of the first things that must be done is to determine how much space is needed. Staff members at Lexington Mini Storage can provide important advice on selecting a unit size. A surprisingly large number of belongings can fit into a seemingly small storage space if items are efficiently placed.

Climate Control

For some of our customers, climate controlled storage is the way to go if they would like their items at a more consistent temperature.

Clean Items First

Make sure to wash and dry hands before handling any valuables or precious items.  For electronics like computers, a box, bubble wrap and packing peanuts can provide an extra layer of protection. We also sell these moving supplies at our locations.

Records should be kept in a file cabinet or box. A document detailing which records are retained should be kept so these records are easy to locate in the future.
