You spend a lot of your time in your bedroom, whether or not you think so. You sleep there, which takes up a lot of time for most people. When you walk in your bedroom, do you become relaxed? Or do you find the environment in your bedroom to be somewhat stressful? Your bedroom should be your favorite room. Here are some tips to get the most out of yours:
- Keep it clean. Most people overlook this step, but it’s one of the most important. You should want to keep your room clean as much as you can so you don’t have to worry about it later. Take small steps – every night before you go to bed, make sure all your clutter is picked up. Set a day that you will actually clean it, dusting, vacuuming, etc.
- Unwire. This may be a hard one, but try to keep all electronics out of your bedroom. This goes for TVs, iPads, iPhones, everything. You won’t get a good night’s rest if you stay up too late watching Netflix.
- Lighting is important. Find what kind of lighting you like best and adhere to it. If you don’t have a choice (if you’re in an apartment or dorm), there are some various ways you can make due.
- What are your favorites? This is a vague category. Make sure your room is your favorite color. Personalize your room too, don’t be afraid to splurge on those extra soft bed sheets and have pictures around your room of people who mean the most to you.
