Diy Halloween Costumes

« Return to News

Halloween is just around the corner! Instead of going to a Halloween store to break the bank on a cheaply made, overpriced costume, why not make a costume from things you most likely already have around your house? And if you don’t it would surely be cheaper than buying a full ensemble for just one night.   Here are some easy ideas to dress up frugally:

  1. Greek god/goddess: Just pull the sheet up from your bed and make your own toga. This classic costume is sure to never go out of style.
  2. Cowboy or cowgirl: jeans, plaid button up, hat, and boots. Easy as pie!
  3. Grease character: tight jeans, white shirt, and slicked back hair. Always a hit on Halloween.
  4. Cat: This costume is so easy that most girls could put it together in 10 minutes. All black with whiskers drawn on your cheeks. Bonus points if you have a tail and/or cat ears.
  5. Ghost: Even easier than the cat or the toga. Just cut eye holes out of your sheet!
  6. Nerd: Get some suspenders and glasses to add to your tucked in collared shirt.
  7. Any Scooby Doo characters: Shaggy, Freddy, Velma, and Daphne are easy last minute costumes.
  8. Superhero: Just make a cape out of some fabric or a sheet and make a mask!
  9. Audrey Hepburn: Another easy one for girls – black dress and shoes with some pearls and a cigarette holder.
  10. Athlete: If you have an old uniform laying around the house, why not use it for Halloween?
